What it's all about

  1. I made this red storage box for my bike.
  2. I thought it would be nice if you could write on it.
  3. So I painted a square of blackboard paint on the back, stenciled an invitation to leave a message and attached some chalk.
  4. If someone wants to get something off their chest on the street, they can just write it down on the bike box.

The box specifically asks you to leave a message. So what do people want to write to on a scooter to an unknown person ? Will their messages even be related to the unknown owner? What will they project onto the box?

For some reason I really want to monitor how many positive versus negative messages I find. It's a sort of social experiment where the context is wherever I may roam and the method unobtrusive.

It is also an elusive blog for the man (and woman) on the street, very literally. In a sense it's roving graffiti.

('Postie' is the nickname for a Honda C110 Trail bike - because so many postmen use them all over the world)

do you consider penises positive or negative? i see they are a recurring theme, and will probably continue to be.....

good question, and one i've debated with friends. i guess one has to read the intentions - whether it is intended to be insulting or not. but that is subjective anyway. the whole positive vs negative thing is quite arbitrary really, but interesting.
