Camps Bay Beach - Saturday, 11/10/08
A happy face (middle left)
I presume a pair of testicles and a penis (bottom left)
An unhinged Mr Potato Man-type character (centre)
I can't make out what the letters (if they are letters) say on the right
Another penis (top right). This time shaped from the prestik (sticky tak)
The beginnings of yet another penis, also out of prestik.

Upper Buitenkant Street - Sunday, 5/10/08
Unfortunately I missed out on photographing the first two messages which is depressing. I didn't have my camera and the next two 'posters' got in before I remembered to photograph the messages.
Anyway this is a reconstruction of the first one:
Anyway this is a reconstruction of the first one:
What it's all about
- I made this red storage box for my bike.
- I thought it would be nice if you could write on it.
- So I painted a square of blackboard paint on the back, stenciled an invitation to leave a message and attached some chalk.
- If someone wants to get something off their chest on the street, they can just write it down on the bike box.
The box specifically asks you to leave a message. So what do people want to write to on a scooter to an unknown person ? Will their messages even be related to the unknown owner? What will they project onto the box?
For some reason I really want to monitor how many positive versus negative messages I find. It's a sort of social experiment where the context is wherever I may roam and the method unobtrusive.
It is also an elusive blog for the man (and woman) on the street, very literally. In a sense it's roving graffiti.
('Postie' is the nickname for a Honda C110 Trail bike - because so many postmen use them all over the world)
